Amendment to Omnibus Technical Regulation Order, 2025
The Central Government has issued the Machinery and Electrical Equipment Safety (Omnibus Technical Regulation) Amendment Order, 2025 under the BIS Act, 2016.
🔹 Effective Date: From the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
🔹 Key Amendments:
The implementation date for the Order is revised to 1st September, 2026.
It will apply to machines and electrical equipment listed in the First Schedule from 1st September, 2026.
Assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components in the First Schedule will apply from a date to be notified separately by the government.
